National Endowment for the Arts

The National Endowment for the Arts has several grant programs to support local preservation efforts.

Grants to Organizations

The National Endowment for the Arts provides national recognition and support to significant projects of artistic excellence, thus preserving and enhancing our nation's diverse cultural heritage. The Arts Endowment revises its guidelines annually. For more information visit:

Save America's Treasures Grants

Grants are available for preservation and/or conservation work on nationally significant intellectual and cultural artifacts and nationally significant historic structures and sites. Intellectual and cultural artifacts include artifacts, collections, documents, monuments and works of art. Historic structures and sites include historic districts, sites, buildings, structures and objects. The deadline is typically in April or May.
