1998 AWARD R(1997)ECIPIENTS

The 1998 Power of Preservation Awards were distributed during a ceremony as part of the Preservation League's annual conference in Ithaca, May 2.

This year's theme, the Power of Preservation: Planning for the Future, recognizes the strong link between historic preservation and planning in four specific areas: local economic development, transportation, community initiated planning, and resource protection. The League also honors individuals whose leadership in historic preservation has made a significant impact in their communities.
