We shared information about Preserve New York and Technical Assistance Grants, the signature grant programs of the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) and Preservation League of New York State.
This year, the League has $256,678 in funding from NYSCA thanks to the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature; $40,000 from The Robert David Lion Gardiner Foundation for Preserve New York projects in Nassau and Suffolk Counties; and $10,000 for the TAG program from the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor for projects in the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor.
The League's grant programs are truly a catalyst for community preservation. Through our grants, we work with partners like you to preserve historic buildings, neighborhoods, and landscapes, in nearly every county of New York State. Since 1993, Preserve New York has provided more than $2 million in funding to some 320 local projects.
But the League is so much more than grants!
- We're your champion for the New York State and Federal Historic Preservation Tax Credits;
- We make loans to help acquire, stabilize and restore historic properties through our Endangered Properties Intervention Program (EPIP);
- We applaud best practices with our statewide Excellence in Historic Preservation Awards; and
- We draw attention to New York's most important and at-risk historic places through our Seven to Save list of endangered places.
The Preservation League needs you to stand with us, to ensure that our programs continue to meet your needs, and those of your neighbors.
Please consider joining the Preservation League. By supporting our work across the state, you'll make an important investment in the history and economic vitality of your community.
When you become a member, you'll get insider updates on preservation issues; access to technical information and advice; notice of grant and funding opportunities; and a subscription to Preservation Advocate, our quarterly newsletter. Additional incentives are available at higher levels of support.
Today, as never before, the effort to protect New York State's heritage and promote sustainable community growth requires the League's proven blend of leadership, expertise and advocacy. We hope we can count on your support. Thank you.
