Former factories with a new lease on life. A historic hotel re-energizing a walkable downtown. “America’s Garden,” recognized for more than a century of leadership in preservation. The League was so pleased to celebrate the very best in historic preservation across New York State at the New York Yacht Club on Wednesday, May 9.
Historic preservation is not necessarily about taking a building and fixing it in time. Neighborhoods change, needs change, and successful advocates and developers adapt buildings with those changes in mind. The projects and organizations the League honored have all respected the soul and authenticity of the buildings and landscapes they preserved – while reinvigorating their surrounding communities.
We offer our special thanks to Uberto Construction of New York for sponsoring the event.
