The Zabar Family Scholarship Program

The Preservation League of New York State is pleased to announce the launch of our new Zabar Family Scholarships. These scholarships are available exclusively to Preservation League Student Members*. 

(3) scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded annually during the spring semester. These are competitive scholarships, intended to help defray the cost of a student’s education.

Once you have determined you are eligible, e-mail scholarships@preservenys.org to obtain the application form.

All application submissions will require:
  • Completed application form;
  • Personal essay (no more than 500 words);
  • (1) copy of your current school transcript; and
  • (1) letter of recommendation from a person qualified to assess your academic work.

​Applications and all supporting documents are due by Thursday, February 14, 2019. 

Winners will be notified on Friday, March 22, 2019. Winners will be invited to attend the League’s annual Excellence in Preservation Awards in May in New York City to receive their scholarship award.

*Preservation League Student Membership is free for students at Columbia, Cornell, Pratt, SVA and U@Buffalo.

Students enrolled in other programs in New York State are invited to join for a $35 annual membership fee.
