Project Description: The EPIP loan revolving line of credit will be used to fund phase 1 of the borrower’s $2 million plan to rehabilitate, preserve and reopen the site as an operating girl’s camp. A portion of the funding will be used for vital infrastructure work for water, septic and power services on the island. Eagle Island is a 30 acre island located on Upper Saranac Lake approximately 3 hours north of Albany.  The site is now owned by Friends of Eagle Island Inc. a 501 (c)3 organization formed to own and save the site. The site is an Adirondack Great Camp and a National Historic Landmark.  It was built in 1903 by Architect William Coulter for former U.S. Vice President (1889-1893) and NYS Governor (1895-1896 ) Levi Morton.
