The Preservation League of NYS mourns the loss of Lori Zabar, a dedicated member of our Board of Trustees and a much-loved colleague. Lori served several roles as a League Trustee, most recently providing her leadership as Chair of our Governance Committee. Her commitment to nurturing the next generation of preservationists lives on through the League’s Zabar Family Scholarship program, which she established in 2019. The warmth, enthusiasm, and generosity of spirit that Lori brought to the League will be sorely missed by board and staff alike.

Lori recently finished writing her second book, Zabar’s: A Family Story, With Recipes, which will be released later this spring. To learn more about Lori Zabar’s incredible life, I Love the Upper West Side published a lovely tribute.

At this time of loss, our thoughts are with her family. May her memory be a blessing.
