The Preservation League of NYS announced today grant awards totaling $406,200 from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) to support the arts and culture sector. Through New York State’s continued investment in arts and culture, NYSCA has awarded $80.9 million in FY 2026 to arts and culture nonprofits across all 10 regions and a historic number of artists.
The League’s 2025 grant from the Donald Stephen Gratz Preservation Services Fund was awarded to the Landmarks Society of Greater Utica. The $13,600 grant will help support work to restore the front entrance and sidelight windows of the Miller-Conkling-Kernan Residence at 3 Rutger Park.
The Preservation League has awarded TAP Inc. a $12,600 grant from the Donald Stephen Gratz Preservation Services Fund. This grant funded a pre-construction evaluation of five vacant buildings in downtown Troy. Included on the League’s 2025-2026 Seven to Save list of endangered historic places, the mixed-use buildings on Troy’s Lower River Street have been vacant for over 15 years and have faced deterioration and demolition threats.
