The New York State Council on the Arts awarded the Preservation League $1,034,472 over a three-year period in support of our annual partnership grant programs, Preserve New York and TAG (Technical Assistance Grants). The NYSCA/Preservation League Preserve New York partnership began in 1993 and supports grants for historic structure reports, building condition reports, cultural landscape reports, and cultural resource surveys. NYSCA and the Preservation League began partnering on the TAG program in 2012. The TAG program supports arts centers, historic sites, music halls, theaters, libraries, and other cultural nonprofit or municipal entities that steward historic buildings throughout New York State.

The Robert David Lion Gardiner Foundation also awarded the Preservation League $50,000, expanding our prior Preserve New York partnership to include the TAG program. Gardiner Foundation funds provide dedicated support for Nassau and Suffolk County cultural and historic nonprofits through Preserve New York and TAG, as well as technical assistance.

The Preservation League of New York State, the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) and the Robert David Lion Gardiner Foundation announced today that applications are now open for the Preserve New York partnership program. Preserve New York will have over $270,000 grant funding available in 2020. This includes over $240,000 in funding from NYSCA and over $25,000 from The Robert David Lion Gardiner Foundation for projects in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

Applications due by April 6, 2020.
