commission assistance and mentoring program CAMP logo

The Preservation League is pleased to partner with the National Alliance of Preservation Commissions (NAPC) to bring their CAMP training to six locations across New York State in the fall of 2019 and spring of 2020.

Each full-day CAMP training will feature high-quality, engaging, and informative presentations and group discussion. NAPC Trainers include attorneys, commissioners, commission partners, and local, state, and national staff members.

We are pleased to offer AIA, AICP, and HSW credits at all programs in this series.
AIA credits offered: 6 LU and 5 HSW (1LU/HSW credit each- with the exception of Meeting Procedures, which is LU only).
AICP credits: 6 CM credits, 1 Legal credit and 1 Ethics credit.
Credits to be administered by NAPC.

The general categories of topics to be covered include:

  • Legal Basics

  • Standards and Guidelines

  • Meeting Procedures/Role of the Commissioner

  • Infill

  • Identifying and Designating Historic Resources

  • Outreach/Building Public Support

Registration is required and limited to the first 30 registrants. There is a $30 registration fee to secure your spot. If you register, but cannot attend, kindly let us know so that your space may be offered to those on the wait list. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds. Registration for the October events will close on October 14 or until sold out.

Dress code: business casual

Photographs may be taken during these events that will be used for League promotions, including on social media and in printed materials.
